Mt EVEREST
This 90 minute
presentation portrays the 1994 Sagarmatha Environmental Expedition.
The entire expedition received the David Brower Award for Environmental
Action from the American Alpine Club for the removal of 5000 pounds
of trash from the mountain. Expedition Leader Steve Goryl explains
how this expedition set the precedent of paying the Sherpas to recover
discarded Oxygen bottles from the mountain. This policy is still
in effect today! The presentation is given in multi image and video
format by the Expedition Leader and fully documents the efforts
needed to climb this mountain. The expedition included the late
Scott Fischer and his partner Rob Hess who both summitted without
Oxygen, becoming the 3rd and 4th Americans to accomplish this feat!
Steve Goryl attained the summit all alone on Friday the 13th of
May 1994.
